Etsy

Just as a reminder, I am trying to sell some crafts on Etsy to help with my Compassion International sponsorships, birthday gifts for the kids, etc.

If you want a certain color or fabric, let me know and I'll try to find it.

Right now I have a variety of burp rags and bibs for sale in lots of cute fabric.  I also crochet some ruffle scarves, and can make these in more colors too.

Feel free to message me on Etsy with any specific requests or if you'd like to make an offer on anything (or for more than one purchase) let me know since I'd be happy to negotiate too.  Thanks again.

New Pictures of Tuyizere

I am so excited.  Last night I received pictures of Tuyizere and her family.  Laurent was able to visit her and bring her a letter and pictures of my husband and I to her, and most importantly let her know that she has been sponsored by us and will receive lots of letters in the years to come.

Here are some beautiful pictures he took for us:

That is her sister and mom in the pictures as well (they are holding the pictures we sent them).  Tuyizere is 5 (but will be 6 on April 1st).  Her smile melts my heart and I love her to pieces.

While Laurent was there, he found out that Tuyizere's dad has malaria.  Please pray for her dad so that he is healed.

This family is a believing family and even has a bible verse written on the outside of their house.  I am so excited to get to know Tuyizere.

If you haven't already done so, please check out my Etsy page at:  http://www.etsy.com/shop/ChurchillCrafts
I have added a few new items and would love to get some sales coming in so that I can use the money towards a family gift for this wonderful family.  Thanks!

My newest sponsored child!

I wanted to introduce you all to my newest sponsored child...Tuyizere.  She is a cutie from Rwanda who is 5 now, but will be 6 on April 1st.

My birthday was last week and that day I felt a strong pull to sponsor a new child.  I found sweet little Tuyizere along with some other kids that pulled at my heart so I thought about it overnight.  The next day I decided that Tuyizere was the perfect little girl to add to my Compassion family.

Isn't she a cutie!

I've already sent her an online letter, birthday money, and have a letter, coloring sheets, picture, stickers, puzzle, and birthday card ready to be mailed tomorrow (when the post office is open again).  I hope this young girl knows how much she is loved!

The neat thing is that Laurent (a former sponsored child with Compassion) will be visiting her sometime soon and will be able to tell her in person that she received a sponsor and he will try to take more pictures of her, so I'm pretty excited that I might get to see more pictures soon.

Please pray for this little girl and her family.

Also, please check out my Etsy shop at:  http://www.etsy.com/shop/ChurchillCrafts

I have various burp rags and ruffle scarves for sale, and the money raised will be used to help sponsor this little girl, as well as for birthday and family gifts for my correspondence kids as well.  Let me know if you have a special color request for either the scarves or burp rags and I'd be happy to help (or buy several and I can give you a discount on price and/or shipping).  Thanks!

Updated photo of Zymvra!

We became the correspondence sponsors to 12 year old Zymvra on December 26, 2012.  He is from the Philippines.  In January we received a letter from him (addressed to his financial sponsors and written before we were even assigned to him) so we know he writes in English, and seems like he'll be a good little writer.

Here is the picture that showed up when we first got him:

Now today when I went on our account, I saw what looked like a new guy....but it was just Zymvra's photo update!

Below is his new picture, showing him to look more like a 12 (almost 13) year old!

He's definitely growing up and looks like he maybe grew a little taller too.  He's a cutie and I can't wait to hear from him some more (since I know I have another letter from him on the way....not sure if this one is directed at his previous sponsors or us though, so we'll find out!).

Patiently Waiting (trying to anyways...)

Still patiently waiting for letters to come from our Compassion International kids.  I called and know 3 letters have been written and are on their way, so its just a matter of time.  It takes time for them to get translated, back to the US office, and then mailed to me, so I have to pray for patience, but it's hard!  I haven't heard from some of them in awhile so I get anxious to learn more.  I keep writing to them several times a month though, so they should always receive a steady stream of letters to feel special.

For those of you out there that sponsor, please make sure to keep writing letters to let your special kids know how much they are loved, regardless of how often they write back to you.
