Thankful

This month as part of the Compassion Blog assignment we were asked to pick one word for the upcoming year. I have selected "thankful" as my word. I am thankful for so much in life! I am thankful to God every day for being alive, healthy, safe, and loved by him. I am thankful for my Compassion kids. I love getting letters and kind words from them, and I love being able to write to them as well. They are my "kids" since we don't have any ourselves yet. I love them to pieces and am thankful to be a part of Compassion International in this way. I am thankful for my husband. He works hard for our family and is a very devoted church going guy. He's great. I am thankful for my family (parents, brother, in-laws, etc.). They are all great too and I can't imagine life without them. I am thankful for our house and neighbors. We live in a great family friendly area with neighbors who go out of their way to plow for me, have us over for supper, etc. They are wonderful. I am thankful for my job (and my husbands). Although I don't always like my job (or aspects of it), I am thankful for the paycheck that allows us to travel, support our Compassion kids, afford our house, etc. This coming year I will try to remain thankful, as it is easy to forget all the good things we have to be thankful for when one bad thing happens. We need to have joy through the bad times, as Jesus taught us.
