Sorry I haven't written in a long time!  The summer gets so busy.

To have something new to post, I looked through the kids still awaiting sponsors on the Compassion.com site, and here are a few that jumped out at me from Rwanda, with similar names (trying to do a theme here).


Update:  Looks like Jean Pierre might have found a sponsor!  Awesome.

He is 10, almost 11 (his birthday is August 24, 2002).  He has been waiting 408 days for a sponsor so it would be awesome if he found a sponsor by his birthday in two weeks.  He lives with his mother and loves soccer, marbles, and rolling a hoop.

She is 7 but her birthday is tomorrow, so she will soon be 8.  She has been waiting 345 days for a sponsor, so please grant her a birthday wish and sponsor her :)  Her birthday is August 13, 2005.  She is from Rwanda, lives at home with her parents and there are 5 kids in her family.  She loves playing games and she is above average in school!

Sponsor found for Jackline!

While helping at a Compassion booth at the Joyful Noise concert on Saturday, June 8th, I found a sponsor for Jackline (whom I was advocating for the past month).  I am so excited that she will have a new sponsor to write to her for years to come.  Plus, it was officially my first child that got sponsored whom I advocated for.  Exciting :)

On another good note, as a group we got 121 children sponsored at the concert.  Praise God!

14 year old boy from Rwanda.  His birthday is April 2, 1999.  His child ID # is RW-636-0291.  He lives with his mother and there are 6 kids in the family so I'm sure they could use some help!  His shoes look very dirty/old in the packet picture.







Jineesh

This is a 3.5 year old little cutie from India.  His birthday is October 9, 2009.  His ID # is IN-774-0189.  He lives with his father and mother and there are two kids in the house.It says he is in kindergarten (seems young so maybe they mean preschool?) and he likes playing with friends.




Jackline

She is 10 years old (11 soon!) from Tanzania.  Her birthday is June 28, 2002 and her child ID # is TZ-952-0084.  She lives at home with her mother and there are two kids in the family.  She likes playing house, art, and dolls.  She has a beautiful dress on (hard to tell from these small head shot type pictures I find online here).




Juana 

She is a 9 (almost 10) year old beauty from Peru.  Her birthday is August 27, 2003 and her child ID # is PE-546-0150.  She lives with her father and mother and there are two kids in the family.  She likes playing house and dolls.

Happy May 1st!

Time flies!  I can't believe its May 1st already...especially with the weather we've been having here in MN.  Snow, more snow, two warm days, and now rain/snow again today.  I can't wait for the real spring to start!

My Compassion International Updates:

As of last month I had 2 sponsored kids, and 8 correspondence kids.  Then the first week of April I got a call from Compassion saying that the sponsors of our correspondence girl named Flor had dropped her sponsorship.  We had the option of picking up her sponsorship or letting someone else pick her up.  After praying and thinking about it, we decided to pick up her sponsorship to continue to be able to write to her (we've yet to get a letter back, but fingers crossed it will be soon!).  So that now brings our numbers to 3 sponsored kids and 7 correspondence kids. 

We love them all so much.
