We became the correspondence sponsors to 12 year old Zymvra on December 26, 2012. He is from the Philippines. In January we received a letter from him (addressed to his financial sponsors and written before we were even assigned to him) so we know he writes in English, and seems like he'll be a good little writer.
Here is the picture that showed up when we first got him:
Now today when I went on our account, I saw what looked like a new guy....but it was just Zymvra's photo update!
Below is his new picture, showing him to look more like a 12 (almost 13) year old!
He's definitely growing up and looks like he maybe grew a little taller too. He's a cutie and I can't wait to hear from him some more (since I know I have another letter from him on the way....not sure if this one is directed at his previous sponsors or us though, so we'll find out!).

Patiently Waiting (trying to anyways...)
Still patiently waiting for letters to come from our Compassion International kids. I called and know 3 letters have been written and are on their way, so its just a matter of time. It takes time for them to get translated, back to the US office, and then mailed to me, so I have to pray for patience, but it's hard! I haven't heard from some of them in awhile so I get anxious to learn more. I keep writing to them several times a month though, so they should always receive a steady stream of letters to feel special.
For those of you out there that sponsor, please make sure to keep writing letters to let your special kids know how much they are loved, regardless of how often they write back to you.

Still need sponsors for these kids!
I still need sponsors for Kalkidan Ejara and Brian (see the next oldest post for their details).
If anyone wants to sponsor them, please let me know in the next week before I need to return their packets.
Otherwise, if you would like to sponsor a child other than one of these two, please click on my link below to be taken to the page to view other kids in need of a sponsor. Thanks!

Kids I am Advocating for...
I am a new advocate and just got the advocate box in the mail with my first two packets (saw it on the doorstop this morning).
The first child I am advocating for is:
Her birthday is October 8, 2006 and she is from Ethiopia.
She is a beautiful girl with a big smile on her face (makes me melt).. She is wearing a pink sweatshirt and shoes and gray pants. She is from an AIDS-infected area/country. She lives with her father and mother. Her dad is not employed and her mother is sometimes employed as a laborer. She does errands and cleaning, and loves to play house, play dolls, hide-and-seek, etc. She is in primary school and her performance is average.. Her ID # is ET-112-0475. Her child center is Asko Kalehiwot Student Center.
The second child is:
His birthday is April 26, 2000 and he lives in El Salvador.
He is a Priority child, as he has been waiting over 7 months for a sponsor. He lives with his parents, and his dad is sometimes employed as a farmer, and his mother maintains the house. There are 3 children in the family. Brian helps make beds, run errands, and cleans. He enjoys soccer, bicycling, and playing group games. It says his performance is above average in school so that is great! He is a cute young man. His ID # is ES-821-0076 and his center is: Liberacion Integral Student Center.
If you would like to sponsor either of these children, please let me know so I can get you signed up and the packet in the mail to you. Please leave a comment on here and I'll get back to you.
Thanks so much! I will continue to pray that I can find these two sweet children sponsors. Please pray for them as well.

I am a new Advocate!
After already promoting Compassion International on here, Facebook, the OurCompassion Forum, as well as at a few Compassion Intl. tables at concerts, I finally took the next step and became an official advocate. I filled out the form, did the advocate training phone call, and received my advocate number and link. Now I am just waiting on the kit that they will be sending me in the mail in the next month, but until then I will keep spreading the word.
If you have any questions about becoming a sponsor with Compassion International, feel free to comment and I will get back to you. Otherwise you can go to Compassion.com to learn more as well.
If you know you want to sponsor a child, please click on my link below (or copy and paste it), and it will take you to the spot to see the info and pictures for kids who are awaiting sponsors. You can search by country, age, gender, birth date, and so much more. There is definitely a kid out there that will melt your heart (they all do for me!).
I pray that you consider sponsoring a child to help change their life. You can write to the child and you will receive letters back from them. Over time you will build a relationship with them that will be a bond for a lifetime.
Please click on the link below :)
